Brothers Craig and Carl Moore were
the inspiration behind Drybrook’s latest victory with their
impressive displays bringing them 2 tries each. Drybrook’s
first score came after 14 minutes when flanker Craig Moore made a 30
metre break from the back of a line out before giving the scoring
pass to his brother Carl. Drybrook made most of the running in
the first half but the home side hung on and after 25 minutes they
drew level. Frampton relied on a strong driving maul to
go forward and from one such catch and drive from a lineout Drybrook
could not prevent them from advancing 30 metres for a try
Immediately from the restart the home side created a try out of
nothing with a delightful move that caught Drybrook flatfooted.
Drybrook were undaunted and soon drew level with a converted try of
their own. Centre Leon Meek caused the home side a lot of
problems with his direct running and from one such effort Craig
Moore was up in support to go over under the posts for Luke Beard to
convert. Right on the stroke of half time Drybrook scored
again when No 8 Neil Morgan created the space down the blindside of
a scrum to give Carl Moore a try in the corner
Drybrook looked lively in the second
half and increased their lead after 12 minutes with their fourth
try. Craig Moore made a real hash of a four to one overlap but he
quickly made amends by charging down the clearance kick before
gathering the loose ball to score. Drybrook had several other
opportunities to increase the lead as they continually took the game
to the home side but in their over eagerness they failed to convert
pressure into points.
