Drybrook 3pts
Frampton
Cotterell 3pts
Drybrook were
very
disappointed
with this draw
after dominating
the game for
long periods.
Unfortunately
the slippery
conditions and
wet ball played
into Frampton’s
hands as they
possessed a big
pack who were
content to spoil
the ball whereas
Drybrook made
all the running
but made little
impact.
The first half
was a dire
affair with
Drybrook
continually
plugging away
with no reward
though they did
miss some
relatively easy
penalty kicks.
At the start of
the second half
Frampton took
the lead with a
penalty from
their only real
attack of the
game and for a
long time they
were able to
hang on to this
slender lead.
Drybrook did not
vary their
tactics enough
to the extent
that their play
became so
predictable that
Frampton were
able to easily
defend their
lines.
Drybrook kicked
to the corner
from a couple of
penalty awards
but failed to
capitalise both
times by giving
silly penalties
away with the
line at their
mercy.
Into the final
minutes Drybrook
finally got some
reward when
hooker Chris
Thomas kicked a
penalty to level
the scores.
Drybrook should
have gone on to
win the game but
unfortunately
they continued
to use the wrong
options and
Frampton were
able to hang on
for the draw.
