Gloucestershire Premier League
Old Richians 31pts Drybrook 9pts
Drybrook slipped to a
disappointing defeat at Old
Richians where a below par,
error ridden performance led to
the home team emerging
comfortable winners.
Richians opened the scoring
after 5 minutes with their first
attack when a missed tackle in
midfield led to a simple try.
Aaron Ryder then opened
Drybrook's account with a drop
goal but Richians quickly
replied with a penalty after
Drybrook had strayed offside at
a ruck.
After 20 minutes Drybrook lost
flanker Craig Moore with a
reoccurrence of a knee injury
but Ryder kept them in the game
with a penalty.
Drybrook's discipline then began
to let them down and Richians
took advantage to add 3
penalties to give them a 17pts -
6pts cushion.
Drybrook's problems increased
when centre Steve Skelton left
the field with a hamstring
problem and then on the stroke
of half time a bad injury to
skipper Tom Reed held up the
game for a long period.
Eventually the game was switched
to another pitch whilst Reed
received medical treatment but
Drybrook could not raise their
game.
Ryder gave them some hope with
his second penalty after 14
minutes of the second half but
Richians eased to victory with 2
more converted tries to end a
bad day for Drybrook.
