Position:         Any in backs
Former teams: None
Debut:            Too long ago to remember but it was when you could play senior rugby at 14/15 and it was probably for the 3rds who my Dad captained at the time.

Highest level played at:
 Drybrook 1st XV, Gloucestershire U19’s, FOD U19’s.

Cup achievements:
Winning all three FOD Combination Cups, and also being  runners up many times.
Winning the Kingsholm Sevens Plate.

MOST MEMORABLE MATCH
Winning the 3rd XV Combination Cup, I think it was in 2002, we played at Westbury against Cinderford 4th VX and won a tight match. It was memorable because I had only had my knee Op 3 weeks prior and it was the first time Drybrook had won this trophy.

Also the final of the First Kingsholm Sevens plate we won when in the final we came back for the dead against Old Crypt’s to win.

WORST MATCH
Playing Newport Saracens at 3rd team level when I was 16.  I was up against a winger called the Fridge and it was played on the old pitch where the first team pitch is now, and where it was very boggy and wet.  I made a tackle was at the bottom of a pile of players and my face was held underwater in a puddle – very frightening.

FUNNIEST MOMENT
At the start of last season seeing Mark Teague taking a quick tap penalty 10 yards out diving over the 5 yard line thinking he had scored with the Opposition looking on and me screaming from fly-half at our forwards to support him because the daft t*** had dived too short.  Needless to say I had him on the chair for that.

Also at the tender age of 15 I was knocked out in a 3rd XV Match at Weston Hornets and as I came around I heard my Dad going absolutely mad, I suddenly heard team mates shouting ‘Oscar, Oscar that’s the wrong player’  I heard a bang and a thud, looked over and their was a Weston player laid out next to me.

MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT
Watching my Mum running onto the pitch at Barton Hill to try and drag a player off my brother in a League Match.  It was the last game of the season between us, having already won the league and second placed Barton Hill and it was very highly charged.  Needless to say it was abandoned with us winning 7-3 due to a mass brawl, including supporters.

RUGBY HEROES
Jonny Wilkinson for that kick, and Andrew Mehrtens who took fly-half play to another level.

GREATEST INFLUENCES
My Dad, Oscar Rawlings who bought me into senior rugby at an early age and nursed me through the early stages in the 3rd XV.  Also my Son James as I’m trying to retire into the 3rd XV and wait around to play a season with him when he is old enough.

CURRENT PLAYERS ADMIRED
No-one I can think of – everyone who plays at our level and trains deserves a pat on the back for the commitment given to the game.

YOUNG PLAYERS FOR THE FUTURE
Aaron Ryder, he is training with the Seniors but is still a few years away from being able to play, but he knows all the tricks.
Also being involved with coaching the Under 11’s, I’m hoping many of them will make the step up.

CLAIMS TO FAME
Running the DRFC website, so all the rubbish on it blame me for.

 MAIN COMPLAINT ABOUT LOCAL RUGBY
Un-co-operation between all the Forest sides, why do the bigger clubs take all the lower clubs better players only to play them in their 2nds or 3rds?  Surely they would benefit better is these players continued to play league rugby for the lower side and also it would raise the level of standards in the Forest overall.

CHANGES TO IMPROVE LOCAL GAME
 Co-operation between the Local sides.

FAVOURITE GROUNDS
Mannings and Bream, when they are dry.

MAIN HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:
Rugby and golf.

INJURIES:
Why do you think I’m called sicknote! But main ones are my Knees I’ve now had 3 operations.

RUGBY PET HATES:
Moaners, players moaning there out of position or not getting the ball.  It is a team match and they’re in that position as part of the team so get on with it and give 100% as your team mates are.  As for not getting the ball, it depends on the type of match your team don’t try and purposely stop you getting it.

RUGBY SUPERSTITIONS:
I always try to wear shirt number 18 and if not 17. Don’t ask me why?
