29th April - FOD Combination Minor Cup Final.
Drybrook Extras 21pts   Berry Hill Wappers 8pts

This final was the True Minor Cup Final with the only true third XV represented and two sides who a very familiar with each other.  With Drybrook playing into the strong wind in the first half  it was not long before they drove up field and secured the lead through an Andrew Milner penalty.  However Berry Hill immediately hit back when they were awarded a penalty when Drybrook were off-side chasing an attacking kick. The game then seemed to settle into a pattern with Berry Hill's big forwards looking to dominate the scrums, where as Drybrook's forwards and outstanding back-row securing enough ball to feed their dangerous backs.  Drybrook regained the lead after 30 mintues when Andrew Milner slotted a drop goal.

With the wind in their favour in the second half, Drybrook used this advantage well and pinned Berry Hill in their half for long periods but where unable to find that killer score.  Again and again they attacked until eventually Dave Appleby managed to wriggle free of some attempted tackles to score with 20 minutes remaining.  Screwball Milner converted.  Five minutes later, Drybrook then fed the ball along the three quarters with Greg Kiernan finishing off for another try, again screwball converted.  Drybrook then sealed the win with 10 minutes remaining when Milner converted another penalty to take the score to 21pts - 3.  However the Wappers did have the final say with a try at the end, but it was Drybrook who stole the honours to take the minor cup back home to the Manning's for the third year running.

24th April - FOD Combination Minor Cup Semi Final.
Drybrook Extras 17pts   Westbury II 13pts

Despite allowing this unrecognisable Westbury III team into a two try lead in the early stages of this match, Drybrook finally recovered to lead at half time 12 - 10.  Tries we scored by Dean Large finishing off a rolling maul before Steve Rawlings crashed over from a backs move, which Andrew "Screwball Milner converted.

Drybrook then gained the upper hand and eventually scored when Steve Rawlings cut open the Westbury defence only to be caught just short, but drybrook quickly recycled the ball before Chris Tingle finished off the try.

Westbury then closed within a try with a penalty kick, but Drybrook always looked the likeliest to score the next points, and despite missing three penalty opportunities the scoring had finished.

Drybrook now face either Ross on Wye !st XV or old adversaries Berry Hill Wappers in the final this Sunday at Cindeford's Dockham Road.
