19th November - Drybrook 12pts Cinderford 28pts
Drybrook started brightly, with a powerful pick-up-and-drive that saw Jack Grindle crash over for five points. Cinderford came back hard, and good handling led to a try of their own, converted. Jack Grindle scored again just before half time and Foster Lancett slotted over the conversion, giving Drybrook a half time lead of 12-7.
The second half saw both sides play some excellent phases but Cinderford took their scoring opportunities and ran out eventual winners.
12th November - Widden Old Boys 14pts Drybrook 26 pts
Drybrook U12s travelled to Widden Old Boys this week and found themselves up against a well-organised side. The first half was pretty even, with Widden 14 points to 12 ahead at the break.
During the second half Drybrook played the best rugby of their season, not conceding a single point and scoring two well-worked tries. All the Drybrook players showed good hands and ball retention: Joe Tingle scored three tries and Callum Wyman one, with Foster Lancett converting three times.
29th October - DRYBROOK U12s 54 OLD PATS U12s 7.
This week Drybrook U12s entertained Old Pats at The Mannings.Joe
Tingle picked up the ball in his own half and set off on a fine solo
effort to score the game's first try. Good hands from forwards and backs lead to
Guy Pearson going over in the corner, his try being converted by Foster Lancett.
Next James Whitby scored after a fine run through the centre; Lancett
again converting. The last try of the half was the second for Joe Tingle, which
Lancett converted. The second half saw No 8 Callum Wyman score three
tries, all from good support play and strong running; the reliable Lancett
converting all three. Drybrook's final try came from Jack Grindle peeling
off the back of a maul down the blindside, evading several tackles to
score in the corner. Lancett again converted. Old Pats finally got some reward
for their efforts with a late consolation try which was duly converted to
end the game. Special thanks must go to Jordan Brock and Oliver Etheridge who
sportingly agreed to play for the visitors.
